What is Cubic Zirconia
Cubic zirconia vs Diamonds
Elevate Jewelry co uses quality cubic zirconia in all our products. This ensures our prices remain reasonable. We also use only quality hypoallegenic metals such as 925 sterling silver and stainless steel. Our brand falls under the 925 sterling silver fashion jewelry category.
Because of its low cost, durability, and close visual likeness to diamond, synthetic cubic zirconia has remained the most gemologically and economically important competitor for diamonds since commercial production began in 1976. Its main competitor as a synthetic gemstone is a more recently cultivated material, synthetic moissanite.
Also known as simulated diamonds, CZ stones have a rating of 8 on the Mohs scale of hardness, whereas diamonds have a rating of 10.
Cubic zirconia is a synthetic gemstone made of the cubic crystalline form of zirconium dioxide. Regarded as an inexpensive diamond alternative, cubic zirconia is distinct in its aesthetic qualities and physical structure because it’s lab-grown—whereas natural diamonds are beautiful, naturally occurring gemstones.
They are created in the same physical, chemical and optical properties as natural diamonds and have the same fire, scintillation and sparkle.
It is almost impossible to distinguish man made diamonds from natural diamonds using a jewelry loupe. Laboratory diamonds may have different trace elements than natural diamonds that do not affect the diamond appearance. Lab diamonds can only be differentiated with usi tests from natural diamonds.
